A romantic comedy set in 1780s London, this show tells the betrothal story of Letitia Hardy and Doricourt. Letitia finds herself head over heels for Doricourt who is uninterested in a passionate romance with his is future wife. The show follows Letitia’s plot to make him love her the way that she loves him through her wit and charm.

Originally written as a chamber opera for a girls' school in Baroque England, Purcell's opera tells the tragic story of the Queen of Carthage and contains one of the most haunting arias ever written. Prospect's production integrates new texts and modernizes the musical vocabulary of Dido, giving a new voice to the journey of this tragic heroine.

It's a Jane Austen world of country estates and matrimonial maneuvering, with melodrama and mysticism thrown into the mix. This production was the world premiere of this work.
